Everyone from celebrities, royalties, to business typhoons around the world have participated in this exotic rally, but to join this exclusive event there is a minimum entry fee of roughly $30,000 and that’s not including your half a million dollar Ferrari. Now personally I have a hard time justifying the $30,000 fee, I mean come on you can buy a decent car for that kind of cash or at least put in $30,000 to an already fast car, but I suppose if you got that kind of cash might as well go all out, after all it is the Gumball 3000.
If you’re into playboy
millionaires, fast cars, and looking for an adrenaline rush, well then friends look
no further as I introduce to you the Gumball 3000. A 3000-mile adventure, 2012’s Gumball 3000 marks the 14th anniversary of the exotic sports car
rally. This year’s event starts in New York, New York and wraps up in Los
Angeles, California. Influenced by such films as the Cannonball Run (1980) and The
Gumball Rally (1976) founder Maxamillion Cooper has turned boring old public
roads into enticing scenic routes.

Rapper Eve
Fortunately, for me however, I was
able to participate as a Scumballer (Scumballer: A freeloading, wannabe Gumballer,
that crashes the Gumball Rally by participating in Gumball related activities.)
and I must say it’s true, the best things in life are free. I drove down to the
automotive capital of the world, Detroit, Michigan, where the Gumballers
stopped to regroup. They all came in from the border of Canada and met up at
the General Motors Headquarters. Seeing all of these exotic cars pulling in was
definitely a sight to see. I didn’t expect to see as large of a crowd as I did,
but nonetheless the Gumballers put on an entertaining show. I met celebrities
like rapper EVE, MTV’s the Dudesons and even Maxamillion Cooper himself. Aside
from all of these celebrities, being in the presence of cars like the Ferrari
599 GTB, Mercedes Mclaren SLR, Lamborghini Murcielago SV, Mclaren MP4 12 C made
it all worthwhile. In my eyes, the cars themselves are the true celebrities in
this event and to see them ripping up the streets puts my heart at ease knowing
that these cars are doing what they were meant to do, go fast.
